WEEE recycling

July 2024 Update: WEEE electrical and electronic waste recycling plant

Installation and commissioning of a WEEE waste recycling plant at a leading electronics recycling and alkaline battery recycling company proceeds.

The plant consists of three independent lines:

- recycling end-of-life electrical and electronic equipment and electrical cables

- remediation out of order television screens with extraction of fluorescent dust contained in neon backlight lamps and HELPA filtration system.

- volumetric reduction of large plastic parts for the production of PVC-PE granulate

The plant has a total capacity of about 300 kw and will be able to recycle about 1000 T/year of materials. Of note is the presence of a VT-M multiple densimetric table capable of separating metal fractions at the output.

The plant is expected to be commissioned in September and to come into full operation in the following weeks after final set-up.

The plant includes a number of relevant technical innovations that will drastically reduce processing time and achieve metal streams separated according to specific gravity, particle size, and color.
